From your file to a file that fits.

  1. Choose JPG or JPEG images.
  2. Keep PNG selected and leave dimensions blank to retain the decoded image size.
  3. Download the PNGs and check their larger file sizes before uploading elsewhere.

PNG does not restore detail or remove artifacts already lost to JPG compression. It stores the decoded pixels without another lossy encode. A JPG has no transparent background to recover; this tool does not remove backgrounds.

A few useful answers

Will converting JPG to PNG improve image quality?

No. It cannot reconstruct lost detail. PNG can avoid additional lossy encoding when you need a PNG file, but the original JPG's artifacts remain.

Why is the PNG much larger?

PNG stores photographic pixels less compactly than JPG in many cases. There is no PNG byte-cap option here; reduce dimensions or keep JPG when a small upload matters.

Will the background become transparent?

No. JPG pixels are opaque, and this conversion preserves the visible background. Background removal is a different operation.

Are metadata and orientation preserved?

The image is decoded with its orientation applied, then re-encoded. Source EXIF, GPS, and comments are not copied, and the original file is unchanged.

What are the file limits?

Up to 20 files, 25MB each, 100MB combined, and 24 megapixels per image. Some devices may need smaller batches. If a photo is too large, export a smaller copy first.
